A partnership between European Forest Institute, Moray Estates and Silviculture Academy has established the first Integrate Network marteloscopes in the UK at Darnaway Forest, near Forres, Scotland. The two plots create opportunities for training in early-stage stand transformation and late-stage stand development. They are the first such plots in the UK and join a network of over 260 marteloscopes across Europe, using the unique I+ software and tablet computers to allow students to do real-time, virtual tree marking exercises.
Details of the project are published in the latest issue of ‘Forestry & Timber News (Issue: April/May 2025)‘. Special thanks to Vastern Timber and The Scottish Forestry Trust for their support. Announcements for the first training courses will become available soon.
